Karl Sonnenberg is a photographer, video creator and video editor based in Los Angeles, California.

 

In July of 2020, Karl was the video editor for the music video “Soul of The Nation,” featuring numerous Broadway performers. In the Fall of 2020 he directed, designed and filmed “Corona’s Cabaret: An Act of Destruction,” the winner of Playbill’s Virtual Theater Contest. 

 

In the Spring of 2021, Karl was one of the many video editors for The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts event “I'm Still Here: A Virtual Benefit for the Billy Rose Theatre Division.” In the Fall of 2021 he filmed and directed Cher singing “I Hope You Find It" in an online benefit concert for the Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery and Nagi Nunnery in Nepal.


Karl is also the Associate Video Editor for the “The Making of a Broadway Show,” at the Museum of Broadway in New York City, which opened on November 15, 2022. 

In addition to his video work, Karl is a photographer specializing in sports and entertainment. He is the photographer for The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles. He has photographed Scott Coulter’s Spot-On Entertainment concerts with The Phoenix Symphony, The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, as well as at the Rady Shell in San Diego.
